GunterRing is still ALIVE
Apparently someone who wasn't in the know spoke too soon and made some incorrect assumptions.
Here is the retraction:

>Greetings one and all.
>This last monday, 25 MAR 02, I closed out all of my web based accounts,
>and informed you of this, telling you that, "the GunterRing Motorsport
>Country Club will not become a reality at this time." I also said that,
>"it is only polite to let you know we are not going forward with the
>project at this time." And regarding the current board of directors, I
>said, "... they wisely decided to return the project to become a housing
>development, to satisfy the investments of the investors - so all is not
>Well, things are different than what I understood them to be, last
>Monday, I was correct about some of it, and incorrect about some of it.
>So, I apologize to any of you who may have been inconvenienced by this.
>So here is the corrected scenario.
>After speaking with one of the three board members I told you I have
>worked most closely with, those being John Zouzelka, AB Jones and Brian
>Shibley, I have discovered that I was _correct_ about the land currently
>being for sale, and if the project doesn't eventually take off, it will
>be sold or become a housing development. A phone call to any one of
>those three will confirm that for you.
>However, my inaccuracy that was pointed out to me by Oscar Piñeyro is
>that GunterRing Motorsports, Inc. _is_ still viable, and they are still
>on track. Isn't that great news! So don't give up, they are still
>making the great valiant effort, and we can look forward to another great
>motorsports country club in the area some time soon.
>Seeing as I am not affiliated with the GRMCC project, if you want to
>direct any questions to them, I suggest getting the info from Oscar, and
>his e-mail address is <GunterRing@aol.com>
I talked to Oscar Piñeyro for a bit about this last night. I understand that they are still on course and that if needed the additional land could be sold - but this would not affect their original plans. As far as I can tell things are still very much a go for the project.
