Question 370z vs. STI?

How do you think the 370z will compare to the STI both stock?
Drag?
Track?

I'm guessing that the 370Z will be at least as fast. Maybe even faster on a track.

Just take a look at how a 135i does against the STi...

So in a straight line, clearly the STi will be slower once moving.

Around a track, who knows, although lap times between the STi and 350 were always close, I'd think with .97 on the skidpad, the 370 would also show its tails to the STi as well.

Are you serious?

They will be cross-shopped constantly. There are many people that would buy a coupe STi, but settle because they offer what they offer. The deciding factor for the purchase of an STi, believe it or not, is not its door-count in most cases. Although with cars like the 135 and 370 out there...perhaps it will soon become a leading reason, sad as that is.

Personally, probably a driver's race through a standing 1/4

Track, 370Z.

Auto-x - 370 will probably still be a BS car, so hypothetically slower then an STI.

I'm willing to bet they bump it up to AS with that power and skid numbers like those. Who knows with scca though.

With minimal mods such as a simple tbe and reflash, who do you think will be on top?

Under certain weather conditions with the same mods, it should be clear to the normal driver what would be the best choice.

If that's true the RX-8 will finally have something to worry about next season.

I agree that the 370 and STI will be cross-shopped. Certainly not exclusively, but it'll happen.

My heart says "Nissan wins," but I don't exactly have a shortage of faith in Subaru, either.

Well Edmunds just did a 370z vs. 135 and they have an STI and 2 Evo's in their long-term test fleets so I'd give them a week before we see a 370z, Evo, and STI comparo.
