Normally, you should search for this. However, I'll be nice. It's best to get tuned after you have all the parts you intend to put on your car. Put it to you like this, would it make sense to install a crap load of power modifications, tune, then install a turbo?

especially with headers.. youll see little gains w/o a header tune.

Do you have a tune of any kind now? If not, I would at least flash one of the free/cheap OTS maps. While you know your doing more mods in the near future, your car will thank you for at least "scabbing" your tune between mods.

If you don't mind not seeing any gains you can hold off until you get the headers. The 02-03 is fine without the tune for the stage 2 setup. Are you thinking about getting a new turbo in the future? The attraction of the td04 is it's quick spool and low-mid end, and headers will make you lose some low end and the td04 doesn't perform that well at the top to begin with, so that's something to think about.

If I were you, I'd skip the headers and just PnP the stock exh. mani. then get a tune.

Like others have said, you will be ok with what you have now w/o a tune (though you won't see the full potential) if you need some time to put some $$$ together for a tune and headers. I'm all about having everything in place before tuning so you're not paying a tuner each time you add something to the mix.

^^I guess I just look at it as one of the "why not?" kind of things. Since the OP is going opensource, flashing an OTS map is easy and cheap if not free. Im like you though, I wrestled with "when is enough for a tune" also, so I understand the delima(sp)

On a 2.0L wrx I would highly recommend either doing a P&P exh manifold, or nothing at all. Headers just dont result in a powerband that is great for much other than drag racing. (I mean on a 2.0L)

Dave, my wife graduated college Monday and got a teaching job today. That's good news for you. That little list we've been talking about is well within reach very soon.
