I ran 17x8 +48 with 245/40-17 and it wasn't close to anything. I think you'll be fine.

18x8.5" +48 (245/40/18 RT615 tire) fit on my STi without issues.
I only rubbed in a very tight corner, at the track. And the rubbing was nothing more than the plastic inner fender liner in the front. Suspension at the time was RCE yellows, Ohlins struts, and around 2.2 degrees of camber.

You shouldn't have issues with the 17".

Neova's run pretty wide, but you should still be fine with that offset.

Little update on my setup.
1) Advan RS 17x8.5 +50 with 245/40/17
2) Advan RS 17x8.5 +50 with 255/40/17
3) Advan RZ 17x8.5 +45 with 245/40/17 GTR face <3 (same fender clearance as #2)
What will fit my car without fender rolling ? Also will RZ +45 offset clear brembos ?

Specs:
STi 07
drop ~20mm (Type RA struts + Arai springs)
rear camber -1.3

You should be fine. Possible rubbing with passengers and turns. It's only like $50 to have your rear fenders trimmed to be on the safe side.
