Default help me. please.

so my borla rep cracked the other day... its really bad I cant even hear my exhaust, all i hear is the leak. would this make me lose power to the point where i cant even drive it? i seriously tried to start it and i barely could. like there was barely even enough power to get it going in a straight line on a flat road. i had to get a running start to my garage to get it in there because i didnt have enough power to make it up my driveway, which is a slight hill. its also bucking really bad when i do get it rolling, but only under load. i still need to do my 30k maintenance, im at about 31k too so i dunno if that would affect it. helppp

That kind of power loss is unexpected, but I can imagine it having a big problem.

It sounds like there might be another problem but start with what you know. Put any exhaust back on the car (even stock) to figure out if this is causing your power problems.

If not, is the car throwing a code? It sounds like a misfire with the bucking you described, that would for sure trip the ECU to give a CEL.

If its getting a CEL go rent or borrow a OBD2 reader and get us the code, we can go from there.

No way a cracked header should cause that much of an issue.

yeah its been super cold here the past few days and the car still needs the 30k, which includes plugs, so that may be it, or the other thing i was thinking it might be is that the cat is clogged maybe? i dunno i kinda smelled the rotten eggs smell as this whole experience was happening, but absolutely no cel which is the wierd thing.

since i am losing exhaust gasses before the 1st 02, maybe its causing a misread and thinking its running too lean and dumping fuel?? especially under load because its pushing more exhaust out of the leak. that makes a lot of sense to me... anyone else agree?

Yeah, that makes sense. The rotten eggs smell is probably just from the header leak though.. The spark plugs shouldn't be causing this, unless they're completely clogged with oil or something. I just changed mine recently.

im surprised that a cel code wasnt thrown off if ur car runs like that.

my car ran like crap too, and that was cuz when subaru did the 30k on my car, they forgot to change one of my spark plugs which caused a misfire. good thing it happened when i was a block away from a different subaru dealer, and they fixed it under warranty. i only had like 20 miles until my warranty was gonna get voided lol.

Definately not the headers causing it; I've run my RS without headers on the car (for a very short time) and it was just fine.

right, but i think because the o2 was still hooked up and it was misreading, causing it to flood it with gas because it didnt see enough burned fuel. I guess we will find out when my new header gets here...
