Default Holden to get its own version of Chevy Cruze in 2010

Quote:
Holden, GMís main brand in Australia, has confirmed that it will be building a compact 4-cylinder car as a response to the changing buyer behavior. Holden will take advantage of the governmentís $6 billion car plan to produce new Chevrolet Cruze based small car at its Holdenís Elizabeth plant in Adelaide alongside the Commodore.

Holden says that the 4-cylinder engine and an optional diesel will use 20 percent less fuel than the brandís V6 powered Commodore. The Australian brand says that it will also have a hybrid system for the car later down the road.
Holdenís version of the Chevrolet Cruze will create more than 1,000 jobs when production kicks off in the fourth-quarter.

Steering wheel layout looks like it belongs on a school bus.

I agree, great interior, even if the steering wheel is a straight ripoff of Honda (Civic, Fit)

That car looks great, guys. GM is getting into the whole two-tone / two-texture interior thing.

Two little Two late, I guess....

agreed. It is very sharp looking, though I would imagine the actual fit and feel of it would still reek of cheap.

The tails look like JDM civics, which is not bad.

Exterior looks like a Nissan Sentra

interior is far improved, but I can see the hard plastics EVERYWHERE.

Overall ... one heck of an improvement over the boring Cobalt.

Give them a chance, perhaps they will invest in the things your hands touch the most. Steering wheel, shifter, door handle.etc. I can live with a plastic dash if the wheel is nice to touch.

Between this Cruze, the Traverse, the Malibu, and the soon-to-be redesigned Equinox, Chevy is becoming very competitive.
The Holden version in that sketch looks quite cool too.

I like what GM has been doing lately. It's too bad we can't give them Chryslers share of the bail-out
