1,300hp 9ff DraXster based on the Porsche 911

Currently, pricing and final top speed figures for the DraXster are unknown, but with that amount of power the car may be capable of beating the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, which recently claimed the title of world's fastest production car with its 255mph top speed.

On the other hand, 9ff has already been working on a different car to specifically beat the record held by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, in the form of the 9ff GT9R. Final specs for that car are yet to be released but some initial numbers included a 1120hp (836kW) and 774lb-ft (1,050Nm) output from the standard 9ff GT9’s twin-turbocharged 4.0L flat-six engine, which incidentally is rated at 987hp (726kW) and 710lb-ft (964Nm) of torque.

The 9ff DraXster is most likely then focused on acceleration performance as its name suggests rather than all out top speed, and considering the lack of aerodynamic adornments to the car as seen on the GT9 it is unlikely that it has been designed for beating a top speed record.

1300hp is about right for a street legal car to run 9's. hell, ryan woon's 3650lb supra needs 1600hp to run 8's.

ehh... not really.

9's are attainable with less than 1,000hp.

I expect much more from a 1,300hp 911. A 1,300hp Viper will walk this thing.

What does a 600hp Supra and a 1000hp Supra have in common?

hmmm, u know i can't really get excited about this car. We have monster Single Turbo Supras, Twin Turbo Vettes, Vipers, Ford GTs, Gallardos that will crush this thing.

I never implied i owned any of them, i just wasn't impressed. We have SO MANY over 1000HP STREET MONSTERS here in the USA. I'm sorry a 1300hp 911 from germany didn't tickle my fancy, that's just how i feel.

i'm kinda in the market for a Viper GTS, im ABSOLUTELY in love with them! I secretly wish the current SRT10 with it's power and handling dynamics looked liked the GTS. I don't exactly have the $$ ATM to buy a Viper AND send to Underground Racing for a twin turbo build, maybe in a few years...

Very nice and impressive. I would however expect it to run a little quicker, there are cars with ~700 HP running 8's in the quarter. Id still rock the crap out of it if I could afford it.

My friend bought a 96 Viper GTS and I rode in it a few weeks ago. I've never been in a car like that before.

I guess if you work with 1,000hp monsters it's no big thing, but the fastest car I had previously been in is my stock Evo. Either way, good luck on your search. It's a great car!

Hey ass clown, a 1,300rwhp Viper is DD status. There are also many 9 second DD Grand Nationals on the road. Turbos do things that are great. Not to mention that '97-'99 Vipers can attain near 900rwhp on the stock internals.

I too am looking at 98+ GTS or ACR, the extra 50-150bhp would be nice, but the motor's strength from 97-99 blows away the 3rd gen's potential.

1,300 hp out of a 4.0l 6 cylinder is a big deal. How many liters/ cylinders does your dream viper have? All of this "there was this one supra/ viper drag car I saw one time" is pointless.

Where does it say this is a 9 sec car anyway? It does say it reaches 161 in less than 9.5 sec but I would imagine it would be through the quarter by then.

Considering the name and the time it take's to hit 161mph, I am willing to bet that it is being judged on the 1320ft mark. Also with it mentioning that the car wasn't designed for top speed runs would suggest that it is a drag car.

A grand national will do the same (161mph @ 9.5 seconds) for less, with a smaller engine and one less turbo. A viper with the same power will go much faster. They have achieved nothing with the draxster.
