Default 255/40/17 or 245/40/17?

Hey i cant decide between the two. I like the look of the 255/40/17 better but i am not sure if they will rub on the inside or outside fender.

I currently have Rota Torques 17x8 and i have lowerd it with Tein H-techs and KYB-Agx struts.

Can someone help me out here, from experience.

what offset are your rims? also, you will probably be limited to 235 45 17 considering what suspension you are currently running. i am currently working on running 255 40 17s on my car and im running dms 40 mm coil overs. the 255 40 17s on advan rc2s with 45 offset and -2.5 camber fit in the front but in the rear fenders need to be rolled and a 5 mm spacer might be needed. but regardless it is more work than just looking at the tires and putting them on. 1 more thing, 255 40 17 might be too big for a 8 inch rim.

hope this sheds a little light

size mostly depends on the brand/model of tire. 225/45/17 re070s run as wide as some 245s, while some 255 series tires run like a small 235.

which tires are you looking to purchase? the htechs are not super low so you shouldn;t have a rubbing problem with most tires that can fit on a 17x8 rim.

Oh, and why do people buy tires based on look? What size are you currently running? If you're currently on 245's and you feel they don't track well, they're heavy and your gearing is affected too much, then you shouldn't go any higher. I would recommend going w/ the 245/40's. You don't want to spend $600 some bucks with the risk of rubbing.

the search button is your friend

a board moderator may interfere MORE by telling you the same ****ing thing, as this same damned question has been asked hundreds of times here and the answer has not and will not change

search a LOT more

make new threads after you cant find your answer and that means FAR fewer threads

I would recommend only going up to a 245/40/17 tire on a 17x8 +48 Rota Torque's. 255/40/17's would be better suited for a 17x9 wheel.
