Default TPS Adjustment for 93 Imp

i'm having hardcore issues with my 93 impreza l wagon. EJ18, 4EAT, AWD, 231k miles.

to make a long story short - i just rebuilt the trans and its shifting funny, i've nailed it down to the tps. i replaced it with one from a 95 impreza's EJ18. i cleaned it with lubricating contact cleaner before installing and the shifting problems are quite different now. i think its because of the tps position not being 100% right.

i've read online that it should be as simple as getting from 0.45V to 0.55V on the signal wire at closed throttle but i remember reading for a legacy a while back that it should have from 0.5V to 1V at closed throttle. do they use different specs (both 3 wire type)?

the reason i ask is that it was at about 1V closed and working okay but still wanted to downshift for no apparent reason. i moved the tps so that it would have 0.65V closed and now the car doesn't want to upshift at all untill you come off the throttle. i can't imagine lowering the voltage further would be right...??

i just need reliable adjustment specs so i can get this thing back on the road asap.
