Good luck with the build. Here's my STi wagon, stock ej207, v7 sti suspension, brembos, v7 wheels, and 6 speed. I love it, it's the perfect package

That's what I am going for except I am going to try and find genuine STi fenders off a version 7 STi wagon.

Might take a while but it will be worth it. I already have Wrx struts with Koni shocks so suspension is great for now.

How is your 207 holding up ?

It is great, best motor I've ever driven. I am just running a stage 2 tune from brentuning right now and I don't feel I need more power, if your on the fence about getting one, just do it. I am thinking about going back to wagon fenders though. And my brembos are off an 08 STI, I liked the black calipers better.

I am lining up a Version 8 Sti motor and possibly a VF36 turbo for an early june installation.

It should be a fun summer.

Which version 8, jdm (ej207) or usdm (ej257), I am planning on running a bloush 18g down the road with supporting fuel mods and a process west top mount.

JDM version 8 , The USDM motor has less than optimal heads and pistons that are known to have issues. I think the EJ207 is the superior choice here for almost anything except for a full drag car build.

The 18g would be a good setup , I got a ride in a car with a tD05 20g and it was fantastic. The power band was from 3800-8000 with extremely good response.

+1 for the ej207. My brother just came back from his tune at EFI in CT and the car just comes alive. And that rev limit it just so awesome. It makes selling my STi that much easier to swallow knowing I may be able to afford this motor in a year or two. Getting engaged was a rock in my glass house .. and I threw the rock.

Sub'd for updates on this build! and GL!

I used to have a 2005 Sti with a built ej257. So I basically did exactly what you are doing. The downgrade to the five speed sucks for a little while but it's a good transmission if you don't abuse it.

I mean people spend 2500-4000 just doing a hybrid build so why not have something with oem reliability and a better power band.

Your wheels look so much better than mine. Looks like quite a bit of kartboy goodies in that box too. I can't wait to see the progress of this build.

Yeah progress has been a bit slow due to a medical bill I had. I had pretty awful abdominal pain and the doctors thought my appendix was going to burst. Turns out no one knows what happened but it still cost money

Dang, those things look good. I really, REALLY need to redo mine. Mine are so messed up from the previous owner. Apparently putting you wheels on and taking them off without completely destroying the paint on your calipers is a bit much to ask.
