Default How does your Axle Back Straight Pipe Sound?

Yesterday, I chopped off the muffler right under the rear axle where the first bend is and welded a straight pipe in it's place.

I don't think I'm the first one to do it so I wanted to ask other people what it sounds like.

I found it interesting that my exhaust was loudest under 2600 rpm and again around 3900-4400rpm.

At WOT shifting at the rev limiter, you can't really hear it at all.

How does yours sound?

I just think it's funny that the car gets quieter the higher the revs.

with my wrx, the straight pipe is loudest right at cruising speed.. also at 2,100 it drones like a mofo.

Ricey? I didn't think so. By that I mean there isn't a bees in a can sound at high end.
It's pretty nice. I like the like burble when I shift down.

I was just wondering if other people had the issue where our exhaust was louder lower in the revs. Like what dewmudgeon said, 2100 is braaaawwwwhhhhllllaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Haha.

I'll have to consider getting a different cat / resonator to get some of the rumble in there... I can hear it but it's definitely not as pronouced as other rexs.

Does anyone know the rpm where the AVLS is activated?

yes the 2.5i will sound ricy, it has an EL header.
you definatly need to get an UEL header and let the subaru rumble loose.
