Is it leaking at idle? If it is leaking at idle it needs adjusted. There is a screw and a lock nut on the end of it. It is used to adjust the preload on the spring inside the valve. All aftermarket valves need to be adjusted to the proper vacuum of the motor they are used on. Click on this link, scroll down about half way to where it says "Adjusting the spring preload"

http://www.gofastbits.com/index.php?...ub_option=1008

They give a decent description on how to adjust BOVs.

That being said. HKS SSQV BOVs use a very strange design. They are not like most of the other BOVs on the market. They tend to be hard to adjust properly. Even if you get them closed at idle they tend to flutter and surge. They do not have a good design in my opinion.

If you have one, I would just put the stock one back on. Unless you are running enough boost to make the stock one leak, there is no real reason to have an aftermarket valve. Aftermarket bovs especially atmospheric ones are nothing but trouble on Subarus.
