Default COBB SF Intake Filter

How often do I need to clean or "recharge" the filter for this thing? Is the recharge kit that K&N makes the same. I just clean it with soap and water, let it dry, then spray with the oil right? I don't really want to pay $15 bucks plus shipping for the COBB filter recharge kit so hopefully something else will work. Thanks

How often you need to clean it varies. I would do it every third oil change (12k total) if it were my car, but if you live in Ohio's Amish country with dirt roads, then I would clean it much sooner. Both the Cobb and K&N air filters are cloth, so the K&N kit should work just fine.
If you can afford an STi, you should be able to afford a cleaning kit.

You're wrong, I can't really afford an STi.
