Default Looking for a set of wheels and need some help with a few questions.

Hey Guys...
Just as title states. Im in the market for new wheels. I need a little help with some questions I have. I have a 07 STi. At the moment I have the Agency Power StrideSevens. 18x8.5 +35 running 235/40/18's. There a bit wide. I cant lower the car any more because of rubbing issues. I was doing some reading and found a few posts that did not recommend rolling the rear fenders on the STi's with the added plastic part over the rear fender. Is this true? (Any of you roll the rears on a 06/07 STi?) Next question is what wheel. Is there a wheel size 18x8.5 +43 that has a deep concave look? Still doing reading/researching on the offset stuff. Thats all new to me. Im looking to go as wide as I can with VERY little mods to my fenders. If I can roll the fenders on my 07 STi F&R with no issues I'll go wide, but If I cant, I guess Im limited to what I can go with. Without modding the fender, here is what I think would be a good set up from the research I've done, please chime in if there is a better set up I should go with:
Wheels: 18x8.5 +43
Tires: 245/40/18
Maybe stick with my 235/40/18 (Same money on not buying new tires.)
What do you guys think about the above set up? Im open to ANY suggestions.
Thanks for your help/time.

245/40 is a bit tall

what wheel...exactly?

it MAY not clear the brakes

you may be wanting to lower the car too far, anyway

Thanks for the replies. I was looking at the rota D2's. (Do they clear Brembos?) Even thought about the following sizes:
18x9 +50
18x8 +48
The more I look at wheels and the different off sets the more confused I get. I fell in love with the Rota Grids 18x9.5 (DEEP Concave look.), but I don't think I'll get them tucked in far enough without a lot of camber, fender roll and so on.
Uncle Scotty, I've read in some threads you "ARE" the Wheel/Tire Guru when it comes to fitment. Maybe you can point me in the right direction. I would like to stay with at least a 18x8 wheel, and go as wide as a 18x9 if at all possible without having to do major modifications to make them fit. I have BC coilovers on my STi if that matters. I'm interested in the following wheels:
Rota D2
Rota G-Force
But open to others. I would like to get wheels that has the concaved look.

you won't have a choice when you go up to a 9in wheel, especially for 18s.. fender modding is required at that point

You're on your own with that one.

I found a few threads were people asked about fitment and they were told to PM Uncle Scotty.

The Rota D2 will not clear STi Brembo calipers.

The Rota G-Force is a nice option in 18x8.5 +48. It fits very well on the STi and still has concave in this model.

Here are some cars with the 18x8.5 +48 model installed. You can easily run a 255/35/18 tire with these wheels and have 0 rubbing

suby_dude,
Do you have a close up pic of the wheel in Cosmic Blue? Do you know the size wheels and tires that are used in the pic above on the Blue STi?
Thanks....

JDMbyBlood.....the MAN above is THE wheel king around here.

No doubt

_______________

I personally dont see the need for 18's....and a 17x8 with a 245/40 is plenty for 90%+ of all of us driving Imprezas...anything more is....well...usually only necessary in the minds of those brainwashed by the plodding masses and lemming koo-koo kiddies
Not me
