Verizon's has Windows Mobile 6.1 synced up to Samsung's new touch technology. I played with it some last night, and it's pretty fun to use, and has just about everything you could imagine (unless you live in Japan, like Squirrel, because the phones there are straight ridiculous).

as to this particular device of fail

it sucks on so many level it should be shot out back.
first it's windows mobile, already getting close to failing HARD.
second you have a HORRIBLE accelerometer with a stupid animation when it switches...here an idea, drop the animation, and just switch. the camera is flat out BAD. it's a 5mp camera that takes worst photos than the 3.2 MP storm. and sweet hell's trinity don't get me started on the sidebar. that thing is the bane of life. it's trendy, it's cute, but for ****s sake why can't i use an app on the ****ing thing? no you need to drag it to the deskto to use one...GREAT idea, make me do MORE motions. that thing makes me want to find the cutest little bunnies, string them up, inject them full of aids and rabies, and then set them loose on a preschool playground. **** that phone sucks, the ONLY saving grace it has is the optical mouse, wich it is nice to see a windows mobile device FINALLY figure out that the optical mouse would be nice on a touchscreen device. the virtual keyboard is so freaking horrible, and in landscape mode it doesn't get better. the GSM version has a decent set of apps loaded up on it, but it still makes me want to punch babies when I use it. it's not multi touch so you can't play ANY games on it that doens't suck. mostly eliminating the benefits of windows mobile(NES roms).


the screen is just like the screen you have been using on the old treos, it's old tech, the wifi drains the batter in no time flat, the screen resolution is horrible....it's like samsung said "hey we got a bunch of old tech sittng around, lets slam it all into one phone and sell it"


and people bought it.

i never said i liked an iphone. hell, if you took some time to search you would find me ripping on apple fanbois about how the iphone is a prada clone which is a treo clone. so shut the fcuk up. i said iphone clone just purely because the masses have adopted that term for use with any touch screen phone with multimedia and accelerometers

big selling point was a light on the camera, for t3h club shots on days when i dont feel like lugging around the nikon. iphone and the htc touch HD/touch diamond had no light. that and SMS is a must


almost got this becouse its a slider with all the touch features

the light on my old samsung didnt do a damned thing for night shots. not sure if you could adjust shutter speeds but unless i had bolted the damn thing to a steady beam any picture with the light will end up blurry. not the best if in a club situation.

if i were to buy any softbank touch screen phone, it would be htc diamond. x04 or something like that. but for the time being, my 822p pwns.

i just lit up wifey, the light is fine she on the other hand is , and you can adjust the camera a good deal. the diamond had no light, i can't tell you how many golden moments i couldnt forward you guys due to a horrid camerafone
