Default Need help, stranded in Indy

We were on our way home from xmas when our 2005 FXT started making funny noises and losing power. I'm pretty sure the turbo is going/gone. I was wondering if anyone in the area had a spare FXT or compatible stock turbo laying around. Or good suggestions on a place to take it to in the area.
I can be reached at phil.bedard@cox.com or phone at 4043969928. Don't PM me i won't get it.
Right now we are about 25 miles north of Indy.

Any help is appreciated.

Phil

I've got an '02 WRX turbo, don't know if the FXT is the same or not.

I've also got a truck & trailer if you wanted to tow it to Milwaukee.

I'm unavailable for a road trip, you'd have to find your own driver. What's Tim doing?

I'm sure you figured this out already but any turbo that works on an impreza will work on your FXT.. obviously to avoid needing a tune you need to pick up a TD04.

Best of luck to you, had things gone as planned this year there would be a VF43 on my FXT and I would have a spare to help ya out with... oh well maybe next year.

Phil decided to tow the FXT home to Atlanta and fix it there.

Hopefully he doesn't break my van.

Thanks guys. Just north of Chattanooga right now and glad to be almost home. This was the easiset 'fix' so we didn't spend a day or two dicking around. That's 3/4 cars that we've trailered to Atlanta.
just to bring the point home

It was shat in. I think that calls for the replacement of the entire van correct?

Well we made it without any real issues. I'll be returning Chad's van and trailer this Saturday. The brakes worked pretty well in the van, I was a little worried going through one hilly part just north of Chattanooga (6% grade for about 5 miles) but it worked well.

It looks like the turbo is covered under warranty, which is good. I'm more than happy to let someone else wrench on it and put a new turbo in there.

Jay, we were wondering what the smell was, even before we put the dog in there... He slept the whole way back, the rattling of old VW parts must be soothing.

Glad to hear the van worked for you.

Also glad to hear you didn't smoke the brakes...I'm going to need them next month.

I did just order a brake controller, you want to help me install it this weekend?
