18x8.5 Rota Torques w/ 235/40/18

Just ordered my set-up today! I couldnt help but post up a thread to get some of you guys opinions, and if you have any CONSTRUCTIVE advice to throw in, that would be appreciated. The wheels will be in on Wendsday or Thursday and I will post up pics as soon as they are mounted and balanced!

I recieved my 18x8.5 Grids about 2 weeks ago with 235/40/18 tires. My constructive advice is to sell the 235s and go with 245s... I'm doing that.

If you want to be 99% sure you won't rub, stick with the 235/40-18.

I want to order, but I need to know if 18x9 offset 35 will fit my 07 sti...

Because of the extra width and WAY low offset, you'd probably rub with even a 235/40-18. The Torques that the OP has are +48 offset, so they are a better fit.

Yea, I dont want to rub my whole fender well out, so I think I will stick with the 235/40/18s

I have a slightly new question though. The guy got my order wrong and now he is telling me that the 18x8.5 Rotas and Nexen N3000 tires for all four corners come to a total of $ 1,200. Is this reasonable, and if not what is from a wheel shop?

Alright like a stated above I got my wheels in today. Here are a couple shoots I took before and after the wash it got. What do you guys think of my BRAND NEW 18x8.5 Rota Torques. They are wrapped in some cheap Nexen N5000 rubber till the rest of TN winter is over and i find out which look I want on tires. ENJOY!

Constructive is what I am going for here. It may not be a wise decision to buy your tires based on how they "look".

Since really all they are for is "look" minus the small performance gain of traction I would say I did pretty good.

I do plan on setting it on Tein suspension w/ edfc on down the road, but next up will be a full TurboXS Turboback exhaust

Skip the TEIN's with EDFC... if you are going for something in the lower 1,000's price range I would recommend some Stance coilovers.

Are your new tires 225 or 235, they look like 225 in the picture?

O yea they are 225/40/18, this topic was posted when i was originally thinking about it. Its just an update with pictures.

My final prognosis. sp? is that they are good wheels, I am happy with them. I like the tein and im thinking about a big brake kit as well. but that is further down the road next is an exhaust.

The combo is very nice, I love it! It did lift the car up some, springs will fix that. the offset is +48
