Default Looking for some suggestions

hopefully this is the right place to post this(if not please move mods), but i am going to be getting tuned soon with an v2. accessport and a catless downpipe on race gas. right now on an ecutek tune running somewhat rich on 91 i am at 300hp/320tq. also, seems like injectors might be at their max with this set up so i am looking to upgrade after i get tuned. what does everyone think it will make on 100octane? my ultimate goal is 400whp/wtq so looking for some opnions on how to get there. all of this in an 02 wagon with an sti trans.

if i were u i wouldnt waste anymore money until investing in a nice meth kit perrin, aquamist, aem etc..... those numbers seem way to low thts gotta be a truly low reading dyno or a bad tune with a built block like tht (way overkill IMHO) y would u have a rich tune u could prob lean it out a lil nd pick up sum nice gains nd spool up alone....but a meth kit would be ur BEST friend nd with a good tune on a decent dyno should put u right around ur 400 mark maybe just under...

thats what i was thinking for the next step was a good meth/water injection kit that i could run daily.

you need more injector. do that before your tune. i guess 340 on a dynojet on 100octane with the mods you have now

Your running 660cc injectors on a turbo that would probably need atleast 740. You want to run meth or race gas to hit your target, If that doesn't get you where you want to be then you may want to look into getting a bigger turbo or possibly a rotated setup(3076R or 3582R)

You don't need a rotated set up or race gas to hit 400/400. You should be able to get really close to your goal with the set up you have now with the 100oct. My suggestion would be that you get the car tuned with 100oct and see what it does before you change any parts. There is no need to spend money changing parts before you know for sure that you cant reach your goal with the parts you already have.

i run 740cc and 750cc's on both my Greens. 65-75% IDC on 91+meth.

on 100 octane on a mustang or dyno dynamics you will be right ~400whp.....on a dynojet you will be around 450whp.

He should be right around where he wants to be which is what you stated in your last post so maybe i should be the one posting this

I did this because you completely contradicted yourself....you said he could do it without race gas....then went on to say that he would get close on race gas.

anyway, yeah he would be close on buschurs dynojet on pump gas....but not on a mustang or dd on pump.

ok after i get tuned, i will see what it looks like. when my room mate and i used the ecutek software to moniter things, it should something like 91% idc which seemed odd. looks like the next upgrade will be a good dual stage meth kit and some 740cc injectors.

out of curiosity, what type of mileage are you getting in your 02 on the highway?

both cars get 325-350 miles to a tank on the highway and 240-280 around town.

so thats ~25mpg highway and 17-20mpg around town....

but i've also had logging weekends where i got 90-100 miles to a tank....gas mileage with a turbo getting up to 26psi is very right foot dependant.

see i seem to get a best of 21ish(this was on the way home from la to nor cal up and over the grape vine, all on i-5) and i was trying to stay out of boost. around town ive been getting around 15-17. seems like i could get a little better out of it. when i get tuned on the accessport i am going to ask for an economy map as well...unless this is a bad idea for some reason???

oh ya i am only running 18-19psi at the moment.

well, im not really sure how you would make an economy map.

like i said, its just boost related.....i mean you dont really need a whole new tune to run 14psi instead of 19 psi....just dont go WOT....same effect. Theres not really much to change during closed loop.....your AFR target is always 14.7 (unless you're getting into OL) and your timing just has to be where it has to be for EGT and knock reasons and your not in boost while you're cruising....

One thing to check for your highway driving is the closed loop to open loop transition....there is a speed related parameter that will send you in to open loop and make you run richer. Maybe its only set around 70mph and then your going into open loop after that.

Also,

100 octane isn't race gas. And when did David Buschur get a DynoJet?

well 100 octane may not be the highest octane gas there is, but its definately NOT pump gas (although i can get it at the pump). bottom line is that this guy wont see close to 400whp on 91 or 93 octane...there is that better?

and i forgot buschur has a mustang.....just see so many of his cars with dynojet plots....

i believe most people consider anything above 93 octane to be race gas.

99% of gas stations across the US have 3/4 of these.....87,89,91, 93 octane.......anything else not readily available at the pump usually falls under race gas.
