IIRC, the RPF1 does not come in anything above 8 inches wide in the 5x100 lug. Looking at their site: http://www.enkei.com/RacingSeriesSpecs/RPF1.html confirmed this.

the only inexpensive wheel you will find in 17x9 in 5x100 that is close to 'fitting' is a Rota

That's not entirely true Scotty. Rota's would be the inexpensive & easily accessible wheels, but there is also the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheel - http://www.teamilluminata.com/Shop/T...amDynamics.htm

The Rota DPT weighs 18.9 lbs in 17x9, and the Team Dynamics 1.2 weighs 20.9 lbs in 17x9 though, and the Rotas only cost $850 shipped vs over a grand for the Team Dynamics before shipping...

I didn't say anything about how much the wheels weigh, just that there was another option out there that is not necessarily all that much more in comparison to some of the other wheels on the market.

I know, but it doesn't make sense to me why you'd pay more for a heavier wheel.

Because Rota's suck. Seen far too many cracked, bent, tweaked... For no good reason.

Regurgitating that kind of crap in here will get you points. Just like they did for the noob.

Now if someone posts personal experiences, that's a different story. But don't rehash the same ten year old broken rota stories like they're your own.

Who is this guy?

Even Volks bend.
Not every wheel is invincible.

Unfortunately, the human hand at the steering wheel is stronger.

I bought a set of used gold Rota Attacks that were part of the infamous "bad batch". I had one crack at an autocross after around one season of DD and cone-bashing. I contacted Cosmic Marketing, the North American distributor, who sent me a brand new (re-designed) set of Attacks. All I had to pay was the cost of shipping my old wheels back to them. I wasn't the first owner, so this seemed very equitable to me. I'm happy with the customer support.

I'm looking at using a 17x9 next season with a 255/40R17 tyre, so this thread is great. Rota make the DPT in a +42 offset and the Torque in a +30 offset. Would I be right in assuming the +42 (the DPT) would be the best fit on my 06? Would it require the least amount of guard rolling? Thanks.

Chris.
