Default WTB new tires!

I'm looking at picking up a set of 4 new RE960s... Discount Tire wants ~$800 for the 4 of them, before the road hazard (this does include the free prorated road hazard warranty, though)... Doable, but I'm a cheapass and always want a better deal...

So, just wanted to check and see if anyone has a good hookup in the Dallas area, or perhaps has some (or something comparable) lying around they want to get rid of...

Thanks!

Eezyal I have a good hookup at Discount who could give them to you near cost, but I have no idea what that is - He is also IN San Antonio (although he could get them shipped prolly to your nearest discount tire or your house)

also you didn't mention what size.

My bad... for the STI, stock rims 225/45 17's... The full name is Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS Pole Position(s)... I've heard good things about these tires, as far as all season tires go... My stock RE070's are pretty much bald after 15k miles and starting to get dangerous (especially in standing water)...

See here

I've not got a trip planned to SA anytime soon, although my dad just moved there, so I'm sure he'd like if I came and visited (meh...)... I know they've got some of these in stock around the corner, but I don't know how that employee / friends pricing works...

At any rate, any help with getting them cheaper is much appreciated... Thanks!

Ah, well thanks anyway! I'm not really looking for new rims at this point, though... Just the tires...

There was someone on here that had a hook up on Nittos or something for $280 the set. He was local in the DFW area. They may not be Bridgestones but $280 for a set of new tires beats the hell out of $800.

To the original poster as well. This dude has had several threads on tire hook ups, Nexens, not Nittos but for the price you can't complain!

Yea, I remember that thread... I even posted in it a few times... But, in several reviews I found, they state the N3000's have terrible hydroplane resistance... Other than that, they're supposed to be good tires...

They're still a possibility, but the wet driving is the main problem I have with my worn down tires (121 started to get a little squirrelly last weekend), and I'm OK with spending a little extra for peace of mind. If I still had a beater for driving in the rain, I'd definitely pick a set of those up...
