Default DIY Garage Door Seal Lip on 09 WRX...

I know this is far from a new idea, but I hadn't seen any done this way on an 09 (though I'm sure it has), so figured I'd show what I did with some spare garage door lower seal....Didn't do the full wraparound to the wheel wells like most do, just did the center part that sits higher than the side wraps, which I always thought looked wierd. It's a subtle change but I personally like it and better yet, it was free using spare stuff and some stainless screws/nuts to hold it on. I cut the sides a little sloppy so may redo it soon a bit cleaner...since I have about 20 feet of this stuff left

Here are some pics in case anyone is interested

feel free to throw out any ideas for other cheap/free lip options for the 08-09 front...

Looks like a filler piece, Could you do a full piece from end to end over the piece you just put in?

Yeah, but it would have to be something more rigid, since this piece is essentially a high-density foam that doesn't have much structural support to attach anything to it. I have a few ideas, but need to wait until the spring when I can be outside and not freeze my ass off to try them out. I have alot of fiberglass experience, so may make something up...we'll see.

I actually used a Ford Mustang Mach 1 (factory) underlip on my old Maxima, which fit perfectly. I'm looking around junkyards for a few ideas on the subie. I like my cosmetic mods to be cheap and save my money for good-quality performance mods....

I agree with you. I would rather spend my money on performance.

The piece doesn't jump out at me, but it doesn't look bad

yeah, I learned from other cars that the best kind of cosmetic mods are small and subtle, and eventually they add up to make the car look good without anyone saying "damn he spent alot of money" lol...

Positioning is great in between... but maybe could be a little straighter? I know the stuff is def hard to work with and cut for sure. I hate how it comes in the roll getting it unrolled is near impossible, lol

not a fan of this, sorry bro. and to the guy who spent $35 on his, for $55 more bucks you could of bought a polyurethane replica lip... to each their own.

I've heard that it straightens out well if you tack it down someplace flat and hot on a summer day. I just didn't really care that much to go to the effort since hardly anyone notices it anyhow.
