I just got an '05 2.5RS with a brand new STI block mated to the old single cam 2.5Rs heads. I also have an entire turbo-kit that came with the car sitting in a couple cardboard boxes. I don't have any backround knowledge on Subie's might I mention.
My 2 Problems: 1) I need to install the turbo kit on the car. The previous owner said the "up-pipe" was hitting so he removed the whole kit. 2) Reflashing the ECU with Romraider to make the car realize it has a Turbo. I already have the cable from pc to car. I have no previous experience with RomRaider or Subaru's so pleeaase, be nice! haha Thx!

usually the upipe will hit but most people get a spacer and do alittle grinding so it wont.

No, otherwise I wouldn't be on this forum asking questions. I'd rather see what problems I'll run into, then I can at least try to prepare for them while I have free time, instead of going right into it and getting stuck and wasting valuable time waiting for a reply on here for a specific question.

+1 for shop doing the work or lots more research
there is tons of research in this forum about how to set up the up pipe on sohc ej25 - you dont need the spacer if you shave a tab on the head and your up-pipe cant have a flex section on it if you dont use a spacer. i run a turbo legacy exhaust manifold mated to an hks up pipe and invidia v3 downpipe with stock location wrx/sti turbo and sohc heads.... what crossmember do you have?? |

I suppose the stock '05 2.5RS crossmember, since all the guy before me did was just buy an STI block and piece together a turbo kit.
