Question Can anyone spare a part? or give me info on it

Ok a long time ago my moron friend plugged a 24v accessory into my cigarette lighter. It blew the fuse and i replaced it but i think the actual unit is fried. Does anyone have a spare one or know where i can get one at. Part number please. Thanx

Andy

Try Napa Auto Parts. I would assume that the cigarette lighter is pretty generic and can be found at any good auto part store.

it may have a fusible link too.

in my toyota truck, the cig lighter circuit has a fuse and a fusible link. the fuse is simple to R&R, but the link, you have to take the console apart and R&R that...

someone with a wiring diagram outta confirm this.

Yeah, that's about right.

Yup, there's a fusible link in the wiring on the back of the cig lighter itself. It is hidden underneath a bit of black heat shrink tubing.

Easiest way to access it is to take out the ashtray and pop out the cig lighter from the back. (IIRC)

Good luck! Electrical problems suck!

Angry

Ok ive been looking for a while now and i cant afind the damn fuse I just want my cigarette lighter to work so i can use my radar detector. Joe i dont know if i spotted the right shrink wrap tubing that you were talking about. The only thing i see that remotely resembles what you were talking about is a little piece of foam around the connector. When i look in it i dont see anything that resembles a fuse. The only tuing that i see is yellow and its for the SRS airbag. Someone help me! A pic with an arrow pointing to the fuse would really help. Thanks guys.
