Default Westchester Service Departments

Subaru service departments, Smith-Cairns (Yonkers, NY) vs Rushneck (Tarrytown, NY). Does any one have anything good or bad to say about either one?

Thanks in advance.

Default why is it so hard?

Let me know if you find a mechanic and vice versa.

I'm in Southern Westchester, but I'd travel for a good independent mechanic.

Question Revive of old thread

I am about to get 2009 wrx and I am looking for a good place in Westchester NY for service. I live close to Prestige in pleasantville put have not heard good things. Can any one recommend somewhere? I would like to be able to bring in my own oil and have them use it but I want to be able to trust that they will.

Thanks

Dan

with something as simple and basic as an oil change, its always better to learn how to do it yourself.

countless "certified techs" forget to fill the car back up with oil or dont tighten one wheel down only to have it fly off on the highway on their way back home.

with other services that you def want to get done at a dealer, well I dont have any suggestions cause i hate all dealers except metric subaru in long island. if youre willing to drive there you wont be disapointed it is a little far for a basic service though i will admit that.

Default Rushneck Doesn't Sell Subarus Anymore

Rushneck in Tarrytown is no more. It's a Honda dealer now.

Default warranty

I would like to change my own oil but I want to have proof that I followed the service manual for the warranty. My wife's car (2003 VW passat) had a sludge problem and they would not cover it until we could show proof of our oil changes.
There has to be someone in the area that can be trusted. Maybe and independent shop or something?
There is another reason I need a place, the condo unit I live in does not allow people to work on their cars.

Thanks again
Dan

The Smith-Carins in Brewster, one of the head mechanics (name evades me atm, if I remember Iíll update) used to be a professional (I don't remember what kind) racer. Chat him up and be nice and life there is a cakewalk!

I was hoping for something a little closer. I live near Ossining and purchased my 2009 WRX in Danbury CT which is a pain to get to for scheduled maint. What about a local garage that has subaru exp?
