Default Quick question about accessory belt tension

I searched and found several helpful links but this one is the best:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...+tighten+belts

I can't really post #14 of the page (too small), can anyone please upload another one? or explain to me how to measure the tension of my belts?

If your accessory belts squeel, it is too loose. Technically there is a tool to empirically measure it, but generally it is just push on it some, it shouldn't easily move much, no more than 1/2 an inch.

^^^ that's pretty much what the page you can't read says - it gives some actual deflection figures (7 - 11 mm depending on which belt / whether old or re-used) but in practice you aren't going to be able to measure the deflection OR the applied force to that precision

Just a thought

Having the belt only deflect 5/16th of an inch when you press on them with 22 pounds of force over a belt span of about 10 inches is very tight.

You wouldn't be able to rotate the belt (twist) 90 degrees in this span would you?
