Default Subaru Book time

I have a friend with a 1998 Forester that got a quote from a local shop. I'm adding up the labor prices, and wondering if anyone can help me out with what the book time for these replacements would be.

Timing Belt, Tensioner, Water Pump, Thermostat.

Thanks!

I had that quote for my 2.2L ('98 Impreza L) to be around $1100...stupid. T-belt set retails about $200 with tensioner set, 2.5 to 4.0 hours of labor depending on if they "need" to pull the radiator to access the front pullies better. T-stat is easy, $6 in parts + $3 seal, but you lose all coolant and need to burp...same thing with pulling the radiator. WP is probably $65-$150 depending if it's new or reman....it adds up.

Which book? There are a few. Let's see, All Data, Mitchell, Chilton, ADP, etc. Each shop uses their own.

if all goes smoothly, it can be done in like 4-6 hrs. Book time however, hardly cares if your doing something "While your there". Most of the time, the shop just adds on the additional labor time, since getting to the belt is 3/4th of the battle.
