Default Stage 2 WRX Protuned

Got my car tuned at EFI logics tuesday figured i'd post the results. Baseline (stage 2 off the shelf cobb map) made 210whp and 203lb-ft tq. Stock STI's Make 210whp on the same dyno btw, and stage 2 off the shelf wrx's struggle to break 200whp on that dyno so that was a good start.

After the tune it made 220whp and 245lb-ft tq

Cool, I started a thread today on whether the Protune on a 2.0 liter WRX was worth it over Cobb's OTS map. Your maps help me in my decision tremendously.

Care to comment on the feel of your car after this tune? Was it worth the hundreds of dollars the tune cost? What are your supporting power mods?

The feel is quite noticeable. The OTS map is not as bad as people make it out to be. Obviously its going to be a bit conservative, but for a daily driver its fine. The protune added tons of torque and can notice it while passing people. When the boost comes in, in 3rd and 4th you deff notice a difference in power.

Was it worth $450...idk it depends what $450 means to you, personally i think its worth every penny but thats me. Supporting mods are - Cobb Catted DP, Perrin Coated Uppipe, Borla hush, and Cobb intake.

Sweet. My tuner charges $375, which is now sounding like a real bargain (and he's a very experienced and well-liked tuner - www.surgelinetuning.com ). Now I'm really excited. Thanks for posting your results.

This may sound like a stupid question but how good is Cobb at doing a pro-tuned? I ask because the OTS Cobb maps are only "ok" but I live in Utah so I can get a Pro-Tune from them.

I guess it depends who does it, i hear Trey does good work but thats only what i hear. The OTS maps are NOT as bad as people say they are. My car made 40whp over a stock wrx and had a nice smooth curve. I'd have to say thats pretty damn good for a base map. However a protune is the way to go in my opinion.

I'd post that question in the regional forum for Utah...(although those questions in the NWIC for our tuners often result in hurt feelings from some vendors/local tuners).
