Default unorthodox pulley/belts questions

hey all i was wondering if you could help me out. i just bought these pullies and i have two questions about them.

1. first im pretty sure that this part is compatible with my 2.5i? the part # is 041301402.

2. what belt size should i use? the ebay seller i got it from said that i can use the stock size of belts but to make sure that i use the gates brand.

thanks guys in advance

If these are underdrive pullies as Google seems to think, you don't want to use stock size belts. Unfortunately, the only way that *I* know of to figure out belt size is by trial and error, but...

The only 'scientific' way to do it with the stock pulies on the car would be to determine the circumference of the old pulley vs. the new ones (pi * radius squared) and then find out what percentage of the pulley approximately is covered in belt. Say it's 40%, and the circumference goes from 12" on the old pulley to 10" on the new one...

12" *.4 = 4.8" of belt riding on the old pulley
10" *.4 = 4.0" of belt riding on the new pulley

That's a difference of approximately .8" on that pulley. Do the same for the second pulley and find a belt that is the sum of the two differences shorter than the stock belt.

As there is a fair amount of adjustability in the stock tensioning system, this should work. It's not terribly accurate, but it's the easiest way to do it without plotting the centers and diameters of each pulley.

Honestly, if the circumference of a circle is too technical, you may want to let somebody mod your car for you.
