Default need help with oil filter part # for 2005 STI

Hi everyone I just got back from the dealers and got a oil filter the part # on there is 15208aa12a and the previous oil filter I've been using is 15208aa100 ... anyone know the difference ??? or if the oil filter i just got is the corret one ??? when i asked the parts guy he say its the same ??? not sure if I can trust him cause he seems like he doesn't know much about it and was pretty lazy ....can anyone confirm this part# is the correct oil filter for a 05 sti ???? thanks in advance !

the filter ending in 12a is the new "blue" filter, they switched from the previous black filter. You can certainly use it, but personally I'd rather look for the black ones online. The new ones are made in Canada, black ones are made in Japan.

The new ones are actually made in Canada.

Not nearly as nice on the inside as the old Fuji filters. A very comparable filter to the Fuji's would be the Six Star brand, I plan to start using them when I run out of Fujis, assuming SOA has not wisened up by then.
