Default what ways can the 2.5 litre blow besides the obvious?

i'm just trying to get an idea on the odds of my engine lasting with my turbo upgrade. it has high miles (98k) but its mostly highway and the car is only a 2006. i went to an 18G recently and i'll probably be making at or a little above 300 whp.

so, lets assume a few things:

changing the timing belt very soon
i have a GREAT tune, which heirs on the side of caution
i'm not making too much power for the stock block
i religiously maintain my car

so, this isn't a how long will my engine last question. i'm wondering what else could go wrong even when the above is considered? i want at least 20k safe miles out of this setup.

Transmission becomes the weakest link, I think.

As long as you have a safe and conservative tune and don't beat on it I don't see it not lasting for another 20k.

My friend had his vf34 installed around 65k meth 90k now he's at 110k still going strong.

Also what Dustin said be careful with your new found power with your 5sp.

thanks thats reassuring. i never launch my car -- ever. and i don't bang the 1-2 shift ever either. thats my idea of careful, but i do like trips to redline.
