Yes, and in Oklahoma I cover my windshield with cardboard to keep the freezing rain off of it.

When I was living in NJ, I would leave the windshield wipers up when it was snowing, but, if it was too windy, I would just leave the windshield wipers down, I did not want to take the chance that they could get damaged, if they came down due to the wind force.

This is the reason I never leave them up. Plus I'm always worried some douche is gonna come by and snap them off. I'll use the defroster to melt the wipers if thy are stuck, then put them up and de-snow the car by hand then put them down and go.

varies upon conditions if it's uber cold and dry snow nah not worried but if it's supposed to get icey out then yes. I like the cardboard idea but what do you do to hold it down? Duct Tape!? J/k figured you put wipers on top of it, but how long does one piece of cardboard last. you may have found a way to recycle! ha ha ha

I do on my work van. But I've also had the springs replaced from being worn out and not being able to keep the wiper tight too the windshield. This is most likely from leaving them stretched out over night quite often...

I've seen people put plastic bags over them. And people put plastic or specially made covers over then entire windshield.....

I leave them up. The warm interior heats the glass, melts the snow and freezes the wipers.

No. I dont see the point. Mine have never been frozen to the car. If they don't lift up right away, I just hit it with the ice scraper and it breaks loose. At that point I already have to scrape the windshield anyways. Then I just take my gloves and break the brittle pieces of ice off the rubber.

nope. mainly probably because of where I live.

but the way I see it, you'll have to warm up the car, scrape off the windows, and by the time it's over the defroster should have melted the ice on the wipers.

never had any problems leaving them down.
