Precision Billet 6262 Spool up Log

Well, Jay Meagher at Real Street Performance just got my 6262 installed and running pretty decently on my 07 STI.. I am INCREDIBLY happy with the performance of this turbocharger.

It is the BB CHRA 6262 with a Billet wheel and a T4 .68ar exhaust housing.

As you can see full boost by 4250rpm in 4th gear!!! 3rd gear attains fullboost at 4500rpm.

Peak IDC's with my 1000cc injectors are 72% at 7200rpm

My Precision SC6169SP had 68% IDC's at the same boost (19lbs) and made 400whp on a mustang dyno so it should make a little bit more power but comes on waaay faster.

my 6152s doesnt hit 20psi until 5,500rpm in 4th. i just sent it back to precision. i hope they find something wrong with it besides a blown seal! if not, i need to look into making some changes!

I had a piece of pipe lodged in my turbine housing causing terrible response and spool up.

i sure hope they find something like that!

my guess is that they will say the oil seal blew out but the turbo is fine.

FWIW my non ball bearing 6169 didnt come up until 5200 with a .81 T4 turbine housing... i doubt youre running an exhaust housing of that size so i'm sure there is another culprit at play other than just your turbo being lazy.

.82 t3. something is goofy, i have a 9.5:1 2.5L. i would kill for spool like that!

the evo guys are getting full boost at ~5100rpm with a T3 .63 and I have a T4 .68 with no head porting making full boost at 4250, this is a ridiculously good alternative to a 35r with more power potential.

Turbo price is about the same as a 35R. No compressor maps, its VERY expensive to get them done. Turbo is rated for 670hp, but they can make lots more than that.

The 6262 can make more power than a 4088, its closer to 4094 levels.

they are cheaper than the HTA GT35r spool about the same with 40+ horses uptop. I will get this turbo when I decide to go big, it is an awesome turbo.
