Here are some more pics, mav1c posted the first 3 earlier. Although, there were a few pics in the KERSlickity thread, I figured why not put these in a thread dedicated to the F-60.

I was thinking the same thing 'dang that thing looks smooth' i guess the tunnel wars are really heating up because all the other engineering aspects are pretty much maxed out. Only tire chem/compound can lend any advantage now.

^ Actually they took away many of the areo aids and also changed both the front and rear wings in accordance with the new regulations this year. And the tires in F1 are all spec tires so all the teams run the same compounds. Should actually jump over to the KERSlickity thread if you are interested in changes that are taking place this year, many have been covered.

*sigh* The F2001-F2008 (including the 248) were some of the best looking F1 of the last 15 years. The new rear wing look ridiculous, especially when the front wing is in view too.

I agree completely that the new rear wing looks ridiculous in comparison to the front wing. It will definitely help with passing though as the wake of the car in front will be quite a bit narrower. In a few years it will all seem normal.

I sort of like the skinny rear wing and big front wing. Looks sort of old school to me. Meh. We'll see if it makes the show any better.

They should have just had the rear wing single plane.

^ WOW, now your going to bash the Jordan, I miss Jordan in F1. Wasn't that the car Michael Schumacher made his Formula 1 debut in. Like them both and can't wait for the rest of the teams to debut their cars this year.

I'm not bashing Jordan. I loved Jordan as a team, and I loved the cars from that era as that's when I started watching F1. The point I'm making is that it feels like an 18 year step back from a design standpoint. They looked good back then, but not now.

I'm bitter. I don't like the new rules or the new look one bit. I want the cars to continue to evolve, not step back in the ridiculous name of "cost savings" and/or 1000 passes per race. I want points scoring the way it was...because it worked.

The reason why there was limited passing is because certain teams were better than others. It's as simple as that. There always has been and always will be four at the front, 10 in the middle, and 4 at the back. This design will not change that.

Will I watch every race this year? Yep.
Will I have to drink heavily to consider these cars pretty? ...Probably.

Guess the looks are in the eye of the beholder. I think the new cars look pretty good other then the rear wing does look a little out of place. And I do agree with you that there will always be a dominate force (though not always same team) in F1 and all the rules/regs they can come up with won't change that.

they are ads for malboro i believe, since law forbids cigarette manufacturers from displaying ads for their products so they adopted a barcode

^Yes, here is some more on that. I hate to quote wikipedia as a source but it is accurate.
from wikipedia
The team's principal sponsor is Philip Morris International, parent company of Marlboro cigarettes. However, in order to circumvent the European tobacco advertising ban, the car's livery did not feature the brand name. A simple red and white "barcode" was used and, hence the advertising at European Grands Prix was purely through association. In countries that allow tobacco sponsorship, Ferrari used 'Marlboro' logos.

They've been using the barcodes since at LEAST 98. Ferrari also never used the Marlboro name in the US because Marlboro already sponsored the Penske IRL (or was it CART/ChampCar?) team.

That is mostly true. Ferrari did not run the word Marlboro at all in 2008 and probably will not run it in the future. Only a handful of countries (Monaco, China etc) allow tobacco branding.

Interesting thing that I've read in the past is that Marlboro/Phillip Morris owns all the retail space on the car. They pay the drivers and they collect the money from other sponsors like Acer, Olympus etc...
