Default Any users of the ATP GT35r ewg?

just trying to find out how well this thing fits in the stock location. The ewg looks like it may be a pretty tight squeeze. I've searched, but couldn't find any one using one, or pics of one installed. I do remember seeing pics of one on here but I cant find it

Here is a link to Philthy's thread. He has been running this turbo for some time now. Fitment wasn't too bad at all as far as the integrated gate goes.

If you have any questions feel free to give us a call. Good luck with the build.

Will the EWG clear a big TMIC like a Spearco?

Agreed. I haven't tried it with a TMIC but I'm pretty sure it would fit with the way it hangs off the side of the housing.

yimisport's 08 sti has one, and the south coast subaru 08 sti has a 30r ewg turbo.

Here's a nice picture I took when I installed one of them:

Isn't it a little intense to have an EWG directly underneath the main wiring harness? I had an engine fire there when my car was on the dyno... and my EWG is nowhere near there. That area gets hot with any big turbo setup so I can't imagine putting an EWG right there as well. At what temp does plastic insulation combust?

Well it's essentially only a couple inches from where the EWG would be if you had going off the uppipe isntead

Wires are flexible. Move them for more clearance and protect them with pyroshield...

A couple inches is putting it midly. In a typical EWG setup off the UP, it's far enough away to not be an issue. I don't know, maybe where this EWG is isn't an issue... but it doesn't look like it. ?

Why though? There are other EWG options out there that don't require that. Are the ATP turbo's that good?

It is important to move and heat shield the wiring harness as it does run relatively close to the EWG on the ATP setup. Since we did take appropriate precautions we have not had any problems at all with our 08 STi shop car.

Hi Paul.

And yeah, that's why I heat tape wrapped the crap out of everything in the vicinity of that turbo and wastegate after the picture was taken.

The car is at Full-Race where they are fabbing up some new goodies. We'll be picking the car back up in a week. I'll be more than happy to post up some pics of the harness and the new hotness

that would be nice. I'd like to see a good example of how things should look once complete.

wow, now i really have to come by the shop. this new job is severely cutting into the time i could be spending at yimisport.

see you guys sometime this week.

in regard to the wastegate, maybe using the new low profile tial will help eliminate concern of melting wires. although i think the flanges are for 44mm
