Default Local Resources for work our local vendors may or may not do, we need one.

Tracking this information down on the internet is nearly impossible. There are several services I would like done but our local vendor may not offer them. Even if the vendors do offer them I would like another opinion as well.

Here are some examples:
1) Flow Testing Heads (Maybe I want to do my own port and polish)
2) Resurfacing heads or Block (This is almost a MUST when putting a block together with used parts.)
3) Port and Polish of heads (i think P&L does this but not sure they have a flow test.)
4) Turbo wheel balancing
5) Custom Exhaust
6) Several others...

With enough info maybe we can make this a sticky.

I for one don't know how this necessarily affects our vendors. But I don't necessarily want to only have one choice. I like to ask questions and the vendor that answers them best will most likely get my business.

If any of our local vendors do offer these services they should be part of the perferred vendor list.

Just an idea.

Thank you everyone for contributing to this list.

Almost everything on that list seems more like machine shop orientated which most of the shops would have to sublet out for.Either way good idea

my machine shop does all of the above. the only catch is you have to be very to the point on what you want done! you cant give them fully assembled heads and expect a port and polish and have your buckets numbered and put back where they go but, they are good at what they do! they are $105 an hour but you could prolly work out a deal.

they did my block and three of roberts, and mine has 22k so far no problems. they do have a flow bench. they mainly do big hp v8 builds so you have to be clear on what you want done i.e if head work, bring them bare heads!!

This thread is to list out resources. if you have more information address phone number. etc. I would like to build up a list that way it can be made a sticky and everyone has access to multiple resources.
