Post MI: Tein Type HT Gymkhana Master Coilovers! (Semi-rare/uncommon - DSS12-V1LS1)

SOLD for $1575.00 shipped.

What: Tein Type HT Gymkhana Master Coilovers (w/approximately 10k miles). Tein model #DSS12-V1LS1.

Things to note:
  • These are the types of parts that made Tein popular - *TRUE* Tein, if you will. This is the real deal, folks.
  • Adjustment tools, spanner wrench and Tein instruction manual are included.
  • Rates are 10k front, 8k rear.
  • 16 x 16 way adjustable dampers - compression and rebound separately adjustable!
  • In the past 200 miles, the inverted monotube housings have been re-greased and measured (F/V plots available on request).
  • These are GC8 fitment. They could fit a WRX or 2004 STi with GD-specific rear upper camber plates – not included.
  • There is NOTHING wrong with these except the slight rub marks you see on rears below.
Why: Because the owner of the vehicle is very particular about suspension and has decided to switch to Ohlins Flag Series Coilovers.

When: As soon as you send payment (see the "How").

Where: Southeast MI.

How: You PayPal me $1800.00 and I'll ship these anywhere in the lower-48 states (will send elsewhere for additional charges).

More info:
  • They have only seen 1 day of track use. The rest has been ALL street driving.

(The car pictured above is the vehicle they were installed on...)

It's what's to be expected from 10k / 8k. The original owner of the car daily drove on them and actually liked it; however, the new owner uses it as more of a weekend/track car, so he's going a different route.

It's all a matter of personal preference, but they are streetable.

They're all boxed up and ready-to-go, man - I know your car and these are perfect for it. Saves on shipping being local too... Care to PM an offer?

I wish I could man, I do, my D2's are garbage and need to be replaced BAD.... but i'm broke ATM...

I haven't learned enough about spring rates and what they do for ride yet, so 10/8k doesn't mean much to me.. on a 1 to 10, 10 being rocks, where would that land??.. I do know the my car is rough and it get's old slamming the speed bumps on the roads round here.. I'm not looking for a lexus ride, but one that isn't so dam harsh..

10 kg/mm and 8 kg/mm. If you prefer your units imperially, that's about 560 lb/in and 450 lb/in respectively. Stock USDM GC/GM 2.5RS is 157 lb/in and 149 lb/in for comparison.

Depending on how good the valving of these Teins are and how garbage your D2s are, they could be anywhere from "the same" to "ow my back".

To be quite honest, these are still going to be very "racy" compared to other options out there... 10k/8k is QUITE firm and there's not a whole lot of shock travel in this setup. The current owner ran them FULL soft while on the street.

Keep in mind that these coils are built primarily for the track... So they're really not going to be "comfy." I do feel they'd be a great setup for your car, as it is very "track inspired," but it doesn't necessarily sound that you want that firmness any longer.

In the words of the owner, "they have definitely been driven on the street and seemed to well compliment the overall character of the pseudo "street / track" setup of this GC8."

Planning to get it up there soon. I just wanted to get it up on NASIOC right away because of the # of viewers, but a local sale is equally appealing!

2000 without reservoir is a little on the expensive side.

Well, MSRP is like $3200 and they go for $2700 up-to MSRP (obviously new) on sites I've seen, so I figured with the low mileage and lack of track use, they're still worth a few bucks... $2000 is just what they're listed for - offers are welcome via PM.

Inauguration Day BUMP - if it's time for a change for our country, why shouldn't it be for your suspension too!?

...OK that was kind of lame, but really, you need this suspension!

Feel free to make an offer via PM... Worst that could happen is I counter-offer or say "Thanks, but no thanks."

I'm sure the owner (and previous owner) both appreciate the compliment!

It's definitely a sweet machine... It's inspired me to start shopping for the vehicle(s) to build one of my own.

Thanks for the BUMP!
