Default You canít be serious: 4-door Nissan GT-R, GT-R SUV,

Quote:
So youíre still weeping about Honda canning the Acura NSX. Donít worry - because despite the global economic crisis there are still a couple of high-performance cars that will still come out of Japan for you to drool over.

According to Inside Line, Nissan is still working on four-door GT-R that will be badged an Infiniti for 2011. Around the same time, we will also see a GT-R SUV. Thatís right, Nissan is allegedly working on a GT-R based SUV to rival the Porsche Cayenne.

While the NSX has been shelved, Inside Line says that Honda is working on an all-new two-door Beat that will be powered by an upgraded 800cc engine. Also, the Japanese automaker has yet to delay the redesigned S2000 which is slated for a 2011 debut.

Lexus is still working on the $340,000 V10 LF-A which is expected to arrive in 12 to 18 months. Toyota itself has plans for a V6 Supra in its product pipeline scheduled for a 2011 debut.

Will all this become a reality? Only time will tell if Inside Line is right about their findings.

That doesn't look to bad, almost like a Lexus just a little Glorified.

Makes sense as it's another way to get a return on all the R&D $$$ spent on the GTR.

The SUV idea is kinda ehh but it wouldnt be the first time they did a sedan GTR if I remember correctly. They made some R34 Skylines that were sedans. I'm not big into drifting but I'm pretty sure one of the teams in formula-d drifts a 4 door R34 Skyline

I'd buy a 4 door GTR if I had kids and a family. The wife would be more understanding, LOL.

Doesn't look bad, I think the new Z has a similar look minus the 4 doors. SUV's not a bad idea, either.. Look at the Forester..

Yeah and I'm sure it won't look like a GTR that's just raised. Probably just share the platform like the FX and EX crossovers that infiniti has right now.

The only "factory" GTR sedan ever sold through Nissan dealership was the one made by Autech. Autech is a small tuner company that maintains and handles many of Nissan/Nismo's race cars. Autech themselves also have built various special edition cars sold through Nissan dealership. They are almost like a subsidiary of Nissan, much like how Sard is to Toyota/TRD. They are also behind the various Nismo Z33s sold in dealership, as well as the new Nismo Z34.

The 4 door Skyline from D1GP started out as a base model Skyline sedan.

I think that looks better than the GTR itself. It's much more sleek. Of course, production model won't look as nice.

So was I, until I heard that Toyota plans a six figure price tag for the new "Supra"!!! They should make it a 370Z fighter and try to keep it in the $30K-$40K range. But, what do I know?

The 4-door makes sense as an Infiniti. The SUV........ not so much.

That front bumper/ grille looks far too conventional. They'll have to F-it up and make it look like the new Maxima before it comes out.

At least it looks like it's meant to have four doors (read: Panamera).

I was referring to the part of the article where the mentioned a V6 Supra replacement. I'd love to see some competition between Toyota and Nissan in the $30k~ market.

+1 The 4 door GT-R can take on the M5's, E55/E63 AMG's, RS6's, etc. Definitely a lot of win in that design!

Yep.

First thing I thought of when I saw the photo was maserati quattroporte, which I think is a beautiful looking car.
