OMGHi2U (Belated) New Car Thread : 98 STi Type-RA V-Ltd

Got this car mid-April after convincing a certain reluctant member of the forums to take my money (thanks again Alex). I didn't want to post a thread until I had access to a proper camera.

As the title states, it's a 1998 STi Type-RA V-Limited #544/555, with DCCD, helical front LSD, 4.444 final ratio in R180 diff, quickened steering, EJ20K with I believe VF24 turbo. Everyone online has a different opinion of how much boost this model runs so I'll wait until I have some gauges in to post that. I believe it's somewhere from 15-19psi.

I've had it out to the Bryne meet once before having to leave pretty quick but plan on making it out to some more meets as well as some track/autox time once I'm feeling more comfortable with it.

Here are a whole bunch of pics

Tonight! Less pics, more in-person.

Seriously nice car... I'm glad it's staying in the VIC community. Any plans for it, other than a boost gauge, or are you going to keep it stock as a tribute to it's roots?

Working until 11PM tonight Or maybe later depending on what happens (ER hospital work).

As for mods I'm not really as gungho with this as I have been on past cars (I come from multiple S13's, a Supra, etc). This is mostly because you need standalone engine management really early on in the JDM EJ20K modification timeline on our gas. Plans for mods ATM include getting some proper tires on it (snow's on it now), have oil pressure, temperature, and boost gauges on the way in that will be installed in a center pod just so I can monitor those parameters. I just spent a fair bit getting a complete compustar 2 way alarm/turbotimer put in, as well as a bluetooth deck. Quality of life improvements!

I know Fountain Tire is having a sale on tires right now... I think you get up to $160 in rebates until the 1st. I just got a set of Goodyears yesterday... It's so nice to not have the car rattling around at low speed now.

Still way too expensive for the Goodyear tires... The quote online said $860 for four after the MIR.
