the sunroof makes it fast

Default How does this happen

So last night I was rotating my tires with my friends air gun, as we were tightening the lug nut on the drivers side, part of the bolt broke off into the lug...

we were shocked, so lowered the power of the air gun and it happened a 2nd time on the drivers side

does this mean it is a defective part (which i will try and get some reimbursement from subaru ) , or can you break off part of the bolt into the lug if you over tighten it???

sounds overtightened. from now on, just use the gun to lightly seat the lugs then torque them to spec by hand.

You can have.

Default

You never tighten lug nuts with an air gun.
Always install by hand.
Tighten with torque wrench. Torque stick ok, but I still dont like them on the lugs.
