Default MY2000 LSD oil change

just want to make sure, so the trasmission front and center differential shares the same fluid, and rear is seperate? so if I take it to service i'd only have to do the rear one? thanks!

You have MT? If so, you're correct. Front diff, transmission, and center diff are in one unit sharing the same fluid. The rear is in its own unit. They all use the same type of fluid.

Both the tranny and the rear diff are easy to do yourself, if you can (have the room/tools/will to) change your own oil. Rear diff is like $5 for gear oil and no parts. Why pay somebody $30+ to do it?

Autos have seperate tranny/differential oil supplies IIRC. You've got 2 dipsticks up front, right? One on either side of the engine? (never done more than an oil change on a 4eat, so I don't know from experience, just cursory glances through the manual).

What you'll need: sockets for the various plugs you've gotta take out (I think the rear diff just has a square hole for the end of a wrench), a long skinny funnel (or not if you're that good, which I'm almost ), oil catch pan, and I found it helped to drive the front up on ramps (you could then jack the rear up and put it on jack stands so it would be level).

Oh, and some rags and it's nice to use a torque wrench for the reinstall of the plugs.
