I'm a Maintenance Tech-Control Specialist but I hear you. Its production work for sure lol. Its all about metrics and efficiency. We've only been up a year and a half and they want to keep the scrap to a minimum. They're planing on doing more intricate work later on.

How about this? I'd like to move to your wonderful state, but need a job first.

Who wants to help me in my process? Plano seems like the place for me, I'm young with a bachelors degree in business, a minor in economics. Banking and customer service experience. Pool service and repair experience as well as serving and cooking.

look around for bankruptcy court/escrow/accounts and foreclosure - type stuff. They sometimes have difficulty finding finance types that weren't in banking and the courts don't like the 'appearance' problems when some foreclosed individual finds out his account is being handled by a previous Wells fargo employee when he feels WF is responsible for his problems!

Default Job Hunting - Houston

I've recently been on a job hunt searching for a job in the oil field as an NDT trainee. I've completed my Nuclear Radiology and Radiographer training course through Lamco & Associates several months ago, and have honestly had no luck in finding a job.

I've come across a few open positions for hire, but haven't had any luck with having an interview set up. Right now I'm really just looking for a decent paying job to get me buy and help pay for classes again next semester so I can finish my associates degree.

A little more about myself; I'm 21 years old as stated above, and I am a quick learner. I have great communication skills, listen very well, and am very good at paying close attention. I graduated from Cypress Woods HS, and have taken a few semesters and Lone Star Cy-Fair, and am currently trying to complete my associates degree. Also, as most of you can already assume, I'm a car enthusiast and love cars. Subaru's being my favorite of course!

I know this may not be the best place to ask for any help, but I really haven't had any good luck lately. I've gone to a temp agency and was told they can't help me find a job in my field. I've just kind of come to a slump in the road with everything. I have a resume, although I honestly feel like I need to tweak it a little bit to be more presentable and professional.

If anyone has any tips or possibly knows anyone hiring for an NDT Trainee/RT Apprentice position it would be greatly appreciated if you could PM me with any info.

Thanks,

Anthony

Sorry, what's NDT? I think welding maybe? I work for Mustang Engineering as a Project Manager and I know quite a few contractors that I could put you in contact with.

I worked at Gearhart when we had Serge Scherbatskoy (he shared a room with Enrico Fermi during Manhattan Project days!) under consultant contract. He said he used to walk around with 5 curie sources in his pocket! Cool dude to talk to.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. NDT is non-destructive testing. I kind of rushed posting that, so I should have said an RT Trainee, or Radiographic Tech. Assistant. I have taken my safety course already, and am looking for an entry level position with a company who deals with this kind of work.

Just a heads up:

Accounting Job Fair (hosted by Schlumberger)
Saturday Sept. 28th, 2013
Houston Marriott Energy Corridor
16011 Katy Freeway
Houston, Tx
10 AM - 6 PM

3-8 yrs experience
Intermediate Spanish or Portugese speaking/writing

Last I heard, they needed to fill ~200 positions.
If you can't make it, or would like to get the low-down on the atmosphere/background, PM me.

There is a possibility of 11 wks of training in South America for some positions. In all honesty, I don't think they will be sticklers for the requirements, as the only reason they are having this job fair is because they are having a hard time filling all the positions.
(My position was asking for 5+ yrs of experience in a specific area; I hadn't even been out of school that long when I was hired)

That's not bad, my bachelors is in business with an Econ minor. I was afraid the pay scale was far less compared to my region (NESIC)

I'm in San Antonio Texas. But may consider moving to Austin if my wife gets into the UT masters program.

3.5 years as a manager for Whataburger.
2.5 years as a general manager.

About 3 years in auto sales in the middle.

I want a new career.

Some college. No degrees but id love to finish.

I would love to be around cars (wouldn't we all??!) but not in a sales position. Some of the places I worked left a bad taste in my mouth for that kind of work.

Problem: I earn a very aggressive salary/incentives. And I think I am ready to give that up.

I want a non 24 hours type thing. Preferable mon-fri but I don't mind working weekends.

What would txic do?

i have been employed with BestBuy since 2009, have had a variety of positions within the company and have adapted customer skills and am able to effectively communicate with customers under both good and bad circumstances. Bumping this up, currently working for an Offroad performance shop in Pearland, however I'm still looking for opportunities either in the collision refinishing area, service writer position, performance shop tech, and potentially dealer tech. Unfortunately the promises at my current employer haven't lived up to expectations, so hoping for a change in the near future. However I have used this time at my current employer to gain knowledge on light line repair, suspension diagnosis, and occasional metal fabrication

I'm in Plano currently working as a Sr. Desktop Support Analyst. I've got about 15 years experience in I.T. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Information Systems Security. Also have my CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) certification. Looking to get my foot into my career path in I.T. Security. Been rough so far though because of not having any direct IT Security experience.

Income wise need $65k+ to consider leaving my current employer that I've been with for over 8 years.

Looking for a cnc machinist (or a competent button pusher for now) in south Arlington. No experience required but you do have to be very detail oriented and on time to work. Knowledge in engineering prints and measurement tools in a plus.(micrometers and calipers)

That being said, some experience would be nice. It's a small company that does a lot of dod contracts. It doesn't pay the best but it IS a fun place to work. You MUST be able to pass a drug test and a background check.

Hours are 8am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Shoot me a message if you are interested.
