Default 2009 SCCA Solo/ ProSolo Contingency Sponsors?

Has anyone gotten any word from SCCA or others regarding the '09 Solo/ProSolo sponsors? J. White from SCCA said it would be posted on SCCA.org as soon as the info is available, but I bet there is a lag. Perhaps someone out there knows something and would care to share with the rest of us. Here is the place to do it.

Well when I registered for Dixie...all the standard ones came up....usually the exact contingency won't be known till right before the tour/pro starts....like the end of Feb...beginning of March timeframe...

That would be great for STU'ers if Kumho was still in the game like 2008. Then we could run the XS's for prize money at both ProSolo and Tour events.

Do you run parts to win? Or just for contingency?

I'm just trying to pre-order the contingency stickers so I can get them all on before I leave the garage.

Well...... then don't post about it as a mod on a major marque forum. Some people really don't know any better, and have been up in my face about it when I have to tell them such.

Yup. They definitely check them. I was a little annoyed when I was asked to take my tire blankets off at Nats, so they could do so...

That's fine, Bill. But please understand that I (and KC, and Hoppe) understand more than pretty much anyone else here that a joke can be taken very seriously, especially when it's said by someone who is respected as a competitor. Evos in STX, anyone?

As someone who has benefitted greatly from Hoosier and Kumho contingency over the last few years -- to the point where I wouldn't have been able to compete at the levels I did the last two years without it -- I don't think joking about trying to cheat a series sponsor is very funny. In these economic times, we're going to be lucky if even a fraction of the contingency support is available this year and in the coming years, and what it's been the last few years is paltry compared to when I first started National level autocross 10+ years ago.

There are things to joke about online, but when a "" can be taken as a "just joking" or as a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge," I don't think cheating the event sponsors is one of them, that's all.

Toyo? What do they make that's as fast as the Bridgestones? (And can you get Toyo's from Tirerack? I like supporting sponsors of the series I participate in... Just sayin')

Oh, and it's nice to see them getting still offering contingency, instead of away from it.

Welcome!
