Odds are this....

Idle will be crap. 550 injectors are 1.5 larger. The ecu can trim back about 20-25%.... So you will be too rich at idle. Normal driving around may be drivable, horribly rich, but drivable. Then at WOT you will be about 8-1 AFR as the stock ECU is notorious for being 10-1 AFR on just 370 cc injectors!

So find some JDM 440 and call it good, or get an emanage or PerfectPower6. Then you can run the 550s no problems.

Want to trade them for some 440s?

Or just buy a PerfectPower6. You can find them used for 200-250. Then SAFELY boost higher (after tuning) AND get better milage in general.

Like Doug said, my Ej22T ECU ran 440's just fine. I don't think I would want to try to run 550's on that ECU. I ran slightly rich at idle and didn't get great mileage. I bet the car would barely run on 550's.

If they really are 550's then they are later and not compatible with your fuel rails anyway.

As for their value I have to disagree with you. Most of the upgraded injectors are worth about the same. 440's 480's 550's. Injectors are injectors. You may consider them rare but those of us who have been around a while know where to buy these sorts of things and just need to pick up the phone or send an email and we'll have a set coming. It's nothing personal and isn't meant as an insult. It just helps to know your audience if you are gonna make a comment like that.

well i just seen price differences from the greys and yellows and people saying yellow are more rare, that is why i said that, but it sounds like i was wrong so my bad. but yeh they are yellow side feed that fit into my 92-94 n/a rails, i belive they are 550 and i really need a set of 440's because i really want to run more psi

I bet those are 440s....... there are yellow STI USDM 550s, and then there are Yellow JDM 440s.... Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I would install them and just see how it runs.

Nope. You are correct and thus why I asked the question. I suspected all along that these were 440's, and they are.

NO!!!!!!

pintle greys (ej20g/ej20h)are 440
pintle yellows (ej20k/ej20r) are 480
ball yellow (ej2555/7 -usdm sti)are 550

those numbers are at from tests at 2.5 bar(some strange down under method) vs 3 bar (correct testing pressure)

only thing i am not sure of is the ej207/ej208 yellows ..i assume they are still 480cc

I still believe that pintle yellows are 440, contrary to the information you have put up. Call me stubborn.

So, what is missing from that list is the ball yellows from v5/v6 Ej207 that I have sitting in my garage. I believe that those are the 480 yellow tops.

Would the yellow 440 99WRX injectros drop in to my 91SS without swapping out my fuel rails for N/A rails?

well the yellows will go into the rails but wont seat properly because the rails that i pulled my yellows off of had the same style as my stock ej22t. on the rails i pulled off my yellows the fuel line goes straight into the injector seats, it doesnt have the male and female connections.

But that's what we measure them here downunder and that's what we refer to them as.

stubborn-just using the ol knoggin .. the down under folks refer to the yellow pintels as 440(at 2.5 bar) and the greys as 380 ..

i want to send at least one of my yellow pintels off to be tested so that i can can have an accurate % increase for my 650s
