Default World Quickest and Fastest bugeye WRX gets even better! Now with 800whp all boost!

Here are some old videos from the car...

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/L...Eye_380382.htm

Best time on the old set-up: 9.40 @ 149

Some details from the old set-up:

Built EJ25 (by Freedy Estrada)
Hydra 2.1 (tuned by Junot)
GT40R
Stock STi 6 speed
And so on...

The new set-up is coming along well... Changes:

New Turbo!!!
Hydra 2.6 (sponsored by Element Tunning)

So far the car made 708WHP @ 34 psi (3rd gear o a Dynojet). This was just to check everything was running right with the new Hydra. Then a new dyno run was made, this time in 4th gear with a little bit more boost... unfortunately the stock 6 speed broke 4th gear at 6,200 rpm.

At that point (6,200RPM) the car had 749WHP and like always... this run was made running all boost. The goal is to reach 800WHP at 38-40 psi and keep improving those times. Dyno graph and videos coming soon (as soon as it happens )

BTW- With 604WHP this car ran high 9's so this is not your typical high reading Dynojets. Stock Sti's and Evo's make 225-230WHP on this dyno.

EDIT- NEW NUMBERS!!!

800WHP!!! ALL BOOST

SAE

Uncorrected

STD

Dyno runs are done in 4th gear. Let's see if it holds for Wednesday when the RRT will take this car to the track!!!

This is not far off from being the fastest stock 6spd world-record time!!

I beleive the fastest is held by a Supra running about 8-sec flat currently.

Don't know the exact weight but close to the typical GDB with weight reduction (stock parts replaced by lighter parts) then add a cage, 6 speed and few other things. This is still a street car "glass, full interior and so on"

I'll say somewhere around 2900-3000 lbs with driver. But that's just a guess .

It's pretty disheartening to see more people breaking the stock 6 speed, but hey...that's what happens when you make power. Keep it up!

This is why I had a Puerto Rican tune my car, Junior FTW!!! For some reason tuning just seems to be in their blood.

Lol, how much more can we expect out of the tranny. Yeah, its bullitproof, but the point in which this one broke the car had 9.00 1/4 mile capability. Can't ask for much more than that

"World Quickest and Fastest bugeye WRX gets even better!"

why does everyone need a title?

So whats the difference between a GDB WRX and GDB STi once you gut it and put an ej257 and a 6 speed in the wrx?

The car is getting another 6 speed.

I know it going to be tough (the gearing don't help) but if it can do a low 9's or even a high 8's pass on the stock gears that would be awesome. The previous 6 speed had hundreds of launches... but then again it was 4th gear that let go... You could always strengthen the stock gears... but eventually a PPG 6 speed would be awesome! A PPG 5 speed is not an option... it just lacks the strength to hold 600+ lb/ft of torque.

BTW- I think the limit of the stock 6 speed is somewhere around 600 lb/ft of torque (which is amazing) when is mounted in a 3000 lb car.

Because it is!! Or you prefer the quickest and fastest USDM WRX ... Anyway the title is just that... the title (And it sounds awesome too ) The point is, it gets you to look at the thread. And since this is PPB let's just show one of the premier subies to the community.

the engine and tranny are what make it an STi over a wrx...

So its has the same chassis as teh STi, it has an STi motor, and an STi tranny......but we're gonna call it a wrx so we can say its the fastest.....

i really dont care....i just find it amusing...

I'd rather say "we have the 5th fastest wrx/sti in the world" than make some subcategory that puts you at #1....

i mean in the top 20 each one of them could be #1 something...jdm, edm, adm, usdm, 5 speed, 6 speed, wrx, sti, gc8, nos, all boost, fat driver, girl driver, hairy ballz, etc

Well if a gc8 had an sti swap or whatever else and it was the fastest/quickest, then the title would be "the worlds quickest and fastest gc8"
there is nothing wrong with the title. its exactly what it is

that is different.....gc8 is the chassis. there were 2.5rs, wrx and sti all on the gc8 chassis....just like the wrx and sti both came on the GDB chassis.

which is what im saying. if you took the drivetrain outta a gc8 sti and put it in a gc8 2.5rs are you gonna call it the worlds fastest 2.5rs when you're using an STi drivetrain in the same chassis that the STi rides on?

The thing is they cant say "worlds fastest GDB"......which is what i was getting at.

the drivetrain IS the difference between all the models that ride on the same chassis. so if you put an STi drivetrain in a wrx....you essentially have an STi.

Just because you buy the STi drivetrain yourself and put it on the GDB chassis instead of having them do it at the factory doesnt make it not an STi.

An STi is a little more than an Engine + tranny. What about the brakes? The aluminum suspension? The Wider track, the extra caster, wheels, rear end, interior and so on. Yeah the engine and transmission is the biggest thing but again if you swap a B18C engine to a Civic would that make it an Integra? You know just saying...
