Question 2001 RS exhaust on a 2002 RS ques.

I did do a search, and didnt find what I need.

My only question is if I wanted to put a GC8 Exhaust on a 2002 RS, do I have to move the hanger on the exhaust OR the hanger on the car.

Also, if I got the poly exhaust hangers for the mounts ON the muffler, could I just drive around without doing anything with the 2nd hanger?

Ill give it a shot.
If it's a catback I think the Mid pipe will fit without modification, Then for the axle back You will probably have to relocate the hanger, maybe its the other way around .
I would assume to move the hanger on the exhaust, me thinks this will be a little easier than moving the one on the car.

Okay it breaks down like this... there is 1 hangar on the mid pipe and it matches from the '01 to '02 there are 3 hangars on the muffler and the 2 closest to the back of the muffler fit fine but the one hangar on the front of the muffler needs to be moved over a few inches. No big deal and any exhaust shop should be able to do this.

If you don't already have an exhaust in mind then check out Brullen... they have a template for the '02 (using my car for measurements )... and their headers fit fine too.

i have the catback from the euro-spec wrx from 01 and all that was necessary was to cut .75 in off the cat end of the midpipe and rotate the flange about 90 deg.

Just to clarify.. if I bought the Blitz axle-back I would only have to move 1 hanger?

what do you guys suggest is easier for the shop to modify, a WRX exhaust for a MY02 RS or a MY01 RS exhaust for a MY02 RS?

I would say MY01 for an MY02

Cuz the WRX exhaust needs the hanger relocated AND the flange rotated.

The 01RS Exhaust only needs the hanger relocated
