Default Yes, Another UEL header 2.5i question. l00key!

Alright. I know an UEL header is not a direct bolt on part for the 2.5i's because Subaru decided to change the exhaust routing. Now, I know I will need to get a custom exhaust done[no problem] I was looking at a aftermarket wrx header w/o the uppipe. It looks to me that i can just not use the up pipe and get an exhaust made from the up pipe to the axleback. Does this sound doable to you? It looks like itd work just fine. Anybody that has experiance, i would like them to chime in. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

look for how to install uel on your 2.5i thread, there's a few people who have done it, but it requires some crazy flange rotation and 02 extensions/bung relocation.

I think that was done with an aftermarket header that had header and UP in one piece no? The OP is saying that there are certain aftermarket Header's that are 2pc and therefore all he'd have to do is bolt it on, make a custom flange to meet the header and route the exhaust piping. Which sounds relatively simple but most of the flanges for aftermarket header's are odd shapes no?

In any case, good luck and post pics and vids. I've been planning on doing this for a while but just never got around to it.

nope it was done with a stock wrx or sti header(header and up pipe in 2 pieces) are j-chows and i believe Mdunglemans. Vizzions is with an aftermarket wrx header, but from the looks of it, i believe he bought an EL ssautochrome header not UEL.

Ah yes, I remember now. The original was done with the OEM header which was a PITA. But I could've sworn that someone's done it with a aftermarket UEL.

after looking under the car, since i cant find really good pics on here. i see no reason why a wrx[aftermarket] header would work. yes, the upipe piece would be useless but theres nothing obstructing its way. afterwards it would be a custom exhaust tho because it wont follow stock routing for about a foot, 1/2
