Default ALMS, TWO new manfacturers?!?!

Read the article here:
http://greenfuelsforecast.com/Articl...?articleID=681

the Interesting bits:

Quote:
We've got another major manufacturer, we met with them yesterday. They are scheduled to make their announcements in Sebring. They will not be able to compete until most likely Long Beach (in April). That's a GT program.
they may or may not be referring to BMW, but didn't BMW already announce their intentions last year? Could be a new manufacturer? Nissan w/ the 370z?

Quote:
We have a major manufacturer that is working on a prototype and it's not Peugeot. This one is completely undercover right now. I hate to sound like we're throwing stuff out there just to bait people but it's not the case. We literally had to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) that's 100 pages long. Our technical people have travelled to their R&D center two or three times now.
Who could this be?

That is some very interesting stuff right there.

Maybe Jag GT program there was a lot of talk about it on the Eurosport coverage of LMS, and the prototypes I have no clue what new manufacturer was even talking about it. Maybe Aston Lola?

I bet that the prototype will be Toyota. Nissan may be the GT.

Ah maybe the Dome chassis run by/for Toyota i didn't even think of that. The Toyota factory SuperGT drivers drove for Dome at Le Mans last year.

But i still think the will be a Jag GT car announcement by the end of the year.

Lets hope the prototype is the rumored Toyota engined Dome S102! With everyone recoiling out of the LMP categories it would be great to see such a well engineered chassis with the backing of an OEM powerplant.

Rahal/BMW is one. Toyota with their hybrid motor won't be till 2010. Unless they pull a miracle out their backside.

BUT if the IRL changes their engine package, Toyota would like to get back in with them. So in this economy do they really want to get into both series?

I'm still digging into my contacts to find out more.

Just found out...Hyundai run by Millen. They aren't expected to do that well.

So Toyota in 2010 and Hyundai this season. Porsche is also looking at a P1 car, but that won't be until later '10 or '11. I think that has already been announced.

If there is another Prototype planned, my contact hasn't heard about it. and he usually get some pretty advanced warning when new cars/teams are planned.
