Default Trying to reupholster '02-4 door cards..

How do I get the piece with the old fabric out? I can see that it's plastic riveted in but if I cut/burn the fabric section out how would I get it back in? TIA...

you have to break or drill the plastic rivets and take the top pieces with the fabric off (but make sure you dont drill all the rivet out as that's where you screw to) and then use small self taping screws to put the top section back on with

The top pieces as in the pieces that rest against the glass and span the width of the door card?

Yes the whole top half is one piece. Then the fabric just peels off.

Got it. Will I be able to tuck the new fabric under the top piece?

Its kinda tricky. There is a "slot" sort of where the top of the door card meets the fabric covered piece. They are physically one piece of plastic. After spraying the door card with spray adhesive (mask off the top part of the door) you have to CAREFULLY get a straight edge of the fabric into that slot. Plastic putty knives can help. I found the easiest way was to hold the fabric with my fingers and pull it snug so it was a nice straight edge, then wiggle it back and forth as I slid it into the crack (the wiggling prevents it from sticking to the glue). Once it sticks to the glue it won't want to move, so you have to get it right the first time.

I've done two sets of door cards (did the first set in red suede, then did another set in black perforated suede)

Putting them back together with small screws is a pain, but it works, just take your time.
