Default waxing takes out swirl marks...

just got done washing/waxing my car. mpb wrx. swirl marks were present of course, but waxing really minimized them. only extremely close inspection reveals them now. used meguires wash and gold class wax. i am really impressed with the results and would recommend it. i have attached a few pics.

btw - if you are going to remark on the sti gear, don't. i like the way it looks, especially the side emblems, and i do ahve a few sti items on/in my car. several people have asked about the pink color because it stands out, and i have had the chance to tell them about the wrx, the sti, and wrc. maybe i created a few new subaru and wrc fans.

GO JAYHAWKS!!!

Nice and shiny You waxed it by hand, did you? That serves the car better I think...in shop they use the electronic ones and I just hate that.

The STi gears are nice btw

I've become a fan of the machines since using the Griot's Garage kit. Wash, clay, polish (machine) and wax (machine). Looks like I have a new car, and Griot's sets up their system with a wheel that keeps you from burning the paint. Pretty cool, and foolproof. I couldn't have gotten a shine like I got by hand.

Default they sure are

yep, they are from revolutions. i really like the look they have, and they match the black great. added protection too.

question - any benefit to waxing twice in the same day (like wash, rinse, repeat). does thay have added protection/life or is it just a waste of time?

It isn't a waste of time if it makes you feel better, but washing/waxing twice in the same day doesn't really give you any added protection.

The best protection can be had from washing/clay bar/polishing/waxing. I also think that my machine polished/waxed car looks better, longer, which seems to support the theory that machine waxing works the wax down into the paint better.
