+1 Hill and Agile Great place. Hill I will be seeing you in March.

Nice numbers. That front mount is WAY to big for that amount of power. Bigger is not always better BTW.

Nice ride. 04 STI motor- did he not like the red intake manifold? I bet that turbo would really shine if your friend threw on some meth and up'ed the boost 24-25psi.

He isn't using the intake manifold because its drive by wire and he didn't do the complete harness, so he reused the wrx intake mani and throttle body. It needs an EBC and a full 3in exhaust for an easy 380-390whp. Boost fell to about 18ish psi at redline, Hill said it would hold 21 with the EBC. As far as turning up the boost, that'll have to wait until a few things get sorted out and it'll be race gas, not meth.

the true test of the power will come in a few months at MIR...

WTF why did you do that to your bumper, you know they make front mounts that fit so you dont have to do all that to your bumper. Plus for only a 49lb compressor you dont need that big of a fmic any aps or turboxs one would be sufficient.

I have to ask what the hell you were thinking on that one

I'm curious why the turbo is rotated...

Aren't there higher flowing turbos for the stock location??

yes, but the compressor rating is only part of the turbo, a big part illlbeit, but rotated allows for other configurations of the turbo, so USUALLY it will flow better up top because of those (bigger inlet...etc etc).

I agree, the FMIC looks pretty bad. Nice numbers though.

<--Hill supporter big time.

Yes, the FMIC is hideous, we know, its one of those "few things" that will be replaced. Someone chime in and complain about how much he paid for the turbo/44mm wg/fmic = >$1500 all brand new...

It was originally planned to be on a 2.0l, so he didn't go huge. 21psi @3500 on the street, not terrible, but after talking to Hill about future plans, he agrees that way more power is on the way, with that turbo...

ya, he will get into the 400's with that setup once few things get changed im sure.
My 49lb (SZ 49, internal wg) turbo got 409/401 via Hill on pure 93 pump at 21.5 psi, 421/410(?) with good fuel and drives and delivers power absolutely perfect.
WRX heads may change your numbers alittle bit.

See you shouldnt have to go back and replace things if done right the first time.

look at it like this.

cost already spent on parts that are getting replaced: loss

cost for new parts: gain

new bumper plus paint: loss

The money you are spending replacing parts + the old parts would have bought you a great product if you just got it the first time.

buying crap + twice the work redoing things=FAIL

I'm normally not mean but that is just the dumbest thing I have seen in a long time.

hell get an SSAC fmic for around 3-4 hundred bucks and call it a day. it has proven worthy alot on here and puts down good #'s. I even run it

If they're ported w/ bigger valves, yes. Otherwise, same as STi heads flow-wise.

^^ thank you captain obvious like I said in the first post, "posting for a friend" ..

he is by no means a "scooby specialist" like you, he's not even on NASIOC! but I can say that he listened to me ONCE about his car. I said 6-speed, he got ppgs; I said stock location, he went rotated; I said tmic he went ridiculous on the front mount. I said HILL, he said OK.

My friend is learning, its just taking him waaaayyyyy too long to figure it out seeing that he went from protuned stg2 stock turbo 2.0L to a protuned 18g/fmic setup, back to stock turbo to try and sell the car later found out it was in an accident before he bought it, so then was pretty much handed the turbo/ewg/labor for the kit for really cheap.

The car is a blast and pretty quiet until the ewg opens up

Thanks again to Hill and Agile for their top-notch work, I'd never take a Suby elsewhere

o yea, and its a complete stock 04 sti motor - bottom and heads...
